Authentication Data

We use Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google LLC, to manage user accounts securely. When you log in or sign up, your email address, password, and optional display name are transmitted securely to Firebase's servers for authentication purposes.

Information We Do Not Collect

Asian Gaskets is committed to minimal data collection. We explicitly do not collect, access, or transmit the following types of information:

• Location Data: We do not access or collect your device's GPS location or any location-based information.
• Camera or Media Files: The app does not access your device's camera, photos, videos, or other media files.
• Device Identifiers: We do not collect device-specific identifiers such as IMEI, MAC address, or Android Advertising ID.
• Contacts or SMS: We do not access your contacts, call logs, or text messages.

Cloud Storage

Your account information (email address, display name, and encrypted password) is stored securely on Firebase Authentication servers, which are operated by Google LLC. Local Storage on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your Android device:

• Image Cache: Stored in the app's cache directory (cacheDir/image_cache). This cache is automatically managed by the system and may be cleared when storage space is needed or when you clear the app's cache in Android settings.
• In-Memory Cache: Catalog data (brands, vehicles, gaskets) is temporarily stored in memory while the app is running and is automatically cleared when the app is closed.

Important: We do not store your email address, password, display name, or any personal information on your device. All personal account data resides exclusively on Firebase servers.

Data Retention

Your account information is retained for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion (see "Your Rights and Data Deletion" below), your personal information will be permanently deleted from Firebase servers.

Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical measures to protect it:

• Encryption: All data transmitted between the app and Firebase servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols.
• Password Protection: Your password is hashed using cryptographic algorithms and is never stored or transmitted in plain text.
• Screenshot Protection: The gasket diagram viewer screen is protected with Android's FLAG_SECURE feature, which prevents screenshots and screen recording to protect proprietary technical diagrams.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, please be aware that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data to the best of our ability.

Third-Party Services

Asian Gaskets uses Firebase Authentication, a third-party service provided by Google LLC, for user authentication and account management.

Firebase Authentication

• Purpose: To securely manage user accounts, authenticate logins, and maintain session state.
• Data Shared: Your email address, encrypted password, optional display name, and a unique user identifier (UID) are transmitted to and stored on Firebase servers.

Other Third-Party Libraries

The app uses the following open-source libraries for technical functionality. These libraries do not collect, transmit, or process any personal information:

• Coil Image Loader: An open-source library used to load and cache catalog images locally on your device. Coil does not communicate with external servers or collect user data.
• Koin: A dependency injection framework used internally for app architecture. Koin operates entirely on your device and does not transmit data.
• AndroidX/Jetpack Libraries: Google's official Android development libraries used for UI and system functionality. These libraries operate locally on your device.

Device Permissions

Asian Gaskets requires the following Android permission to function:

• Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET): This permission is automatically added by the Firebase Authentication library and is required for the app to communicate with Firebase servers during login, signup, and authentication state verification. This is the only network communication performed by the app.

The app does not request or require any other permissions, including but not limited to:

• Camera
• Location (GPS, network-based, or coarse location)
• Storage or media access (read/write external storage)
• Contacts or phone
• Microphone or audio recording
• Bluetooth or USB
• Notifications (push notifications are not used)

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes.

Your personal information (email address, display name, and user ID) is shared only with Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) for the purpose of account management and authentication, as described in the "Third-Party Services" section above.

We may disclose your information only in the following limited circumstances:
